Channel Windows

Click on a part of the image to see a description, or scroll down to see a list:

Part button
Leaves the channel.
Cycle button
Leaves the channel and immediately tries to rejoin. This can be useful if everyone else has left the channel but you aren't a channel operator.
Channel info button
Opens the channel control window, where you can see the channel's topic, modes, and bans (and edit them if you're a channel operator).
Timestamp on/off button
Shows or hides timestamps in the output pane.
Log on/off button
Enables or disables logging. When logging is enabled, all text sent to the output pane will also be stored in a file. The filename can be configured on the logging configuration page.
Mode
Channel options are controlled by the mode. Each letter in the mode stands for an option: Some servers and networks may have different modes available.
Topic
A short piece of text associated with the channel. Usually it describes the purpose of the channel, the conversation, or the channel's homepage. The topic shows up in channel lists and appears when you join the channel.
Output pane
Displays chat and events from the channel, as well as private messages and other general events that occur while the channel window is active. You can right-click the output pane for a popup menu, or double-click to open the channel control window.
Nick list box
Shows the nicknames of everyone in the channel. Channel operators have a @ before their nicks, users with voice have +, and half-ops have % (on some networks). You can right-click the nick list for a popup menu, or double-click a nick to see user information.
Input line
Type a line of text here to send it to the channel. You can use /me to perform an "action" in the channel; for example, /me waves to everybody. You can also use any other command here by prefixing it with a /. The up and down arrow keys scroll through your command history.
